Ingredient Spotlight: Each ingredient was selected to benefit the overall formula
Ashwagandha root – This Indian herb has found its way into gardens and kitchens in the United States. It carries many traditional uses and holds the modern-day classification of being an adaptogen. Adaptogens are herbs that help the body adapt to stress and have an overall balancing or normalizing effect on the body.*
Ashwagandha works with the HPA (Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal) axis to improve communication and regulate the production of cortisol. Its ability to regulate testosterone and cortisol may also have a positive impact on sleep and fertility. It has traditionally been used to balance testosterone within the body and is believed to support the male and female reproductive system.*
Part of ashwagandha’s normalizing effect may have to do with its ability to regulate, even lower, blood sugar. Anecdotal evidence shows that ashwagandha may improve blood sugar, joint pain, and a variety of symptoms associated with inflammatory conditions. Research suggests ashwagandha root may improve immune system and thyroid function.*
