Raise your hand if you have done enough cooking this holiday season. Okay then, let’s take a shortcut to an amazing and heavily dosed breakfast. Let us make an epic giant cannabis cinnamon roll.

The time just after the holidays is perfect for catching up with family and friends, eating leftovers, and taking a break from hours of cooking by opting for shortcuts that save you time.

This dank recipe is meant to be easy and calls for premade cinnamon rolls, saving you loads of time.

Do you or a guest have a dietary restriction you are used to substituting for in recipes? Don’t fret. Even when using premade cinnamon rolls, there is some flexibility to meet dietary restrictions. Immaculate Gluten-free and Annie’s Organic cinnamon rolls, for instance, are available in most grocery stores.

If you have a homemade recipe you love making, skip right to making the cannabis cinnamon sugar and honey to dose your favorite monkey bread or coffee cake. This holiday season we won’t be picky, but we will be high.

Editor’s Note: The following recipe is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or treatment and before undertaking a new health care regimen.

Giant Cannabis Cinnamon Roll Recipe

Supplies:

  • Pie pan or 8”-9” round

Ingredients:

  • (1) package premade cinnamon rolls
  • 1 T. cinnamon
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 2 T. honey (vegan option; substitute 2 T. maple syrup)
  • 3 dropperfuls of cannabis tincture with desired cannabinoids (see note)

A note on choosing a tincture for this recipe: The packaging on tinctures typically indicates how many milligrams are in a full dropper. Decide how many total milligrams you want in your final dish and calculate how many drops/dropperfuls are necessary. For the per serving amount, divide the total amount of cannabinoids by the number of servings. Adjust the tincture amount as desired. For a mild experience, you may want to start with 5 mg serving.

Directions:

  • Grease pie pan, set aside
  • Preheat oven per the instructions on the cinnamon roll packaging (usually approximately 350 degrees)

Note: for the giant version of the cinnamon rolls, add approximately ten minutes to the total baking time

  • Mix up cannabis honey by adding 2 dropperfuls of cannabis tincture to the honey in a small bowl, stir and set aside
  • Mix up the cannabis sugar by adding 1 dropperful of cannabis tincture to sugar, stir
  • Add cinnamon to the cannabis sugar and set aside
  • Take out cinnamon rolls from package
  • Place a cinnamon roll in the center on the pan (if one cinnamon roll is the tallest use that in the center)
  • Unroll the next cinnamon rolls by starting at the end of the one in the center and wrapping it around in a spiral

Add to the last cinnamon roll by taking the unrolled end of the next one, continuing to spiral the giant cinnamon roll

  • Add each until they are all added and there is a single giant cinnamon roll
  • Before the cinnamon roll goes in the oven drizzle cannabis honey (or maple syrup) on the entire top
  • Sprinkle with cannabis-infused cinnamon sugar
  • Use a spatula or fingertips to spread the honey and sugar evenly
  • Bake for the recommended cooking time plus an additional 10 minutes until center is firm

As noted above, the center will take longer to bake in the giant cinnamon roll. Before allowing to cool, check to make sure the center is no longer doughy.

  • Cool slightly and add frosting
  • Serve warm

How many does this serve?

The serving size will be based on the number of milligrams of CBD and THC in the breakfast, and how much cannabis your guests are used to consuming. This can vary greatly person-to-person. For those who are inexperienced with cannabis, it is probably best to start with a very small amount and wait 2 hours before consuming more.

If you know your breakfast crowd is going to want large servings, you may decrease the amount of cannabis used or make a second pan of mini cinnamon rolls that are not infused to offer in addition to the infused one.

My breakfast crowd likes it dank, and this giant cannabis cinnamon roll delivers.

Wishing you and yours the happiest, dank-est 2022!
